Aquamancer Spell: Hydroportation |

This is just my suggestion for a teleportation-like spell/skill for at least one of the Curate classes. The lack of it isn't bad when you combo a Curate class with another class. But when you are a Destiny Curate, the lack of one can get quite painful...especially when surrounded by things like stalagmites.
Quote:Hydroportation
While standing on a body of water, you sink into it and re-emerge at a nearby source of water. Using it should not break any Curate Evocations.
Type: Utility
Max Rank: 3
Domain: Aquarian
Range: 6/7/8
M usage: 3
FP usage: 13/14/15
Targeting: Single
Cooldown: 1 Turn
Aqua Crest: If LVL 9, the maximum range you can teleport is increased by 1.

Request Type - Invention
Request Details -Oil based paints with Special effects for art projects related to what seem to be the base properties of Yama Bind, Shy Snow Flowers, Greyneck Mushrooms and Mandrake.
Specific Details:
The Yama Bind thing works slightly differently and is simpler so I will detail that first. All that is being requested there is to make a general long term glue from it, strong enough to attach rocks or wood to a Canvas.
For the rest its a capacity to distill them down into special paints with the following properties, below I will detail my ideal and then other possible trigger conditions
Shy Snow Flowers: Mild Glow on trigger
Greyneck Mushrooms: Invisible until the trigger condition is met then extremely dark
Mandrake: This is the largest stretch but the capacity to make a shrill noise
The ideal trigger condition for my intention is touch based, when the Canvas is touched some of the persons focus is drawn from them to trigger the effect. Probably in a way that has a sideways relationship with Rune Magic. Ideally if a person has a larger base pool of focus a more pronounced effect would be produced within reason. In the case of the Shy Snow Flower Glow is never going to extend beyond 3 meters and it will never be bright enough to hurt the eyes in a well lit room, but a low focus subject might make a glow that is barely visible.
For the Greynecks: the Black of the newly visible lines would be deeper and the darkness they spread more intense, a strong enough source will have the effect lost on them as they will obscure the entire canvas in darkness but it will not spread past that, where as a weaker pool will simple produce thin dull lines that might be barely visible like pencil shading more then a Spreading Darkness.
For the Mandrake the sound is always the same screech warbling within a few notes of high G but in a familiar pattern. The amount of focus determines the intensity of the sound so in this case have a small pool to draw from is largely an advantage. The Maximum volume is still set at 75 Decibels and it will only carry about 10 meters in open air.
If it makes more sense it might require a simple spell to be cast on the Canvas
Another way to handle it would be a blue potion battery where it is active while partially immersed until the focus is drained from the potion.
Reason why you are making this request (if applicable) - One of through lines for Celeste is an attempt to mix there three primary obsessions(Rune Magic, Painting and Alchemy) and to learn through experimentation in all three. I wanted to make this request to detail four of their ideas and to see how possible they actually were.
Roleplay & Lore supporting your request - Largely covered by what is directly above and below. She spend her time in her initial period learning what she could from the library, asking anyone she could about magic and gathering plants near Telegrad. She somehow stumbled into being a skilled alchemist so clearly some of it stuck. In terms of backstory she is implied to have spend a lot of time trying to learn from what herbalist she came across.
- Inspiration for the invention. What made your character come up with this idea?
Studying the common potion formulas in books and the basic properties of the plants. Yama Bind is used for Medical Healing as a binding agent.
Shy Snow Flowers are most commonly used for their capacity to conduct and retain focus, I also remember them being described as specifically a cave Flower but that might be an SL 1 thing if that is the case part of their capacity for dealing with low light environments may theoretically be related to that property to retain and channel natural focus also their natural bright white colour makes them good at reflecting light.
Greynecks are defined by being hard to spot and the potion they refine into is Ghostwalker. They seem a natural fit for making something conditionally detectable and dark. Slipping by unnoticed is their central theme so if you see it as an Artist trying to push that capacity into different shapes is natural
Why are the Mandrakes associated with screaming? Where does that Folk Wisdom come from? Can I exploit it?
- How the invention works. What does it do, how does it do it, what are its limitations? In addition to what was described above in Specific Details. They still work as basic paints, the principals behind the function are somewhere between runes, nature magic and the fundamental weirdness of Alchemy in setting. It also probably does not refine very cleaning I assume it requires rather a lot of plant matter of the useful type to refine into a single bucket of active Alchemical Paint. Not quite having math for any of the things that exist in game I assume it is about 5 or 6 potions worth to make the active part of the bucket once its been filtered.
- Existing technology. What within the established lore supports the invention existing as you have described? Mostly the potions existing and the concept that magic can be triggered by touch. And how the plants are described versus the established potions that they make
- Development time. How long have you been working on this IC? Do you have logs or screenshots supporting your claim?
In theory they have been missing with Alchemical plants to produce art since their first appearance which involved Hidden Violets and is partially covered In Telegrad-Pings from October 15th of 2022. I don't have a lot of screenshots but you may know of the lovely little art trough near the Pond East of Telegrad City. ICly they have always had a connection to the plants of Telegrad and like experimenting with their capacities. Their time off was implied to have been spent learning Rune Craft in a more practical manner then just having read about it and refining their skills with Alchemy if that helps.
This is less an application for having this done and more a request to know how future experiments to attempt to create this stuff will go and if there is actually anything here to pursue. We only have a vague shape with test tubes and jars as a window into how Alchemy is conducted so if there is an obvious reason it would fail I think Celeste would have noticed by now. Although if your fine with them having accomplished it I suppose that just means her first onscreen experiments are a success.
I hope I filled this out right and that combing them rather then making 4 separate posts was correct.

Summons in combat cannot be double clicked as spectator. Making it hard to tell what all is going on mid-combat.

Kensei mainclass passive idea. |

Hello, I'll get to the point:
Iaido
If you are not using 2-handing talent, not using the one handed trait, and do not have a weapon equipped in your offhand, and no shield. you gain:
20 hit
5 base evade
sheath sword only requires 1 momentum if you have damaged a target in this round with a kensei ability.
Hidden cut does 50% less damage, but if a target is below 50% max hp, it does 100% more damage.
If a target is hit by hidden cut, your next kensei ability has greater accuracy.
Numbers can change. I'm just trying to get the point across.

Kaene Ajello - Request for Custom Spell |

Applicable BYOND Key - Karflugen
Character Name - Kaene Ajello
Request Type - Custom Spell - Pinky Promise
Request Details - I’d like to make a spell for my character. I figured it’d be a fun thing to do
Specific Request - Creation of a Custom Spell
Pinky Promise
The spell’s effects as as follows: - A solmancy based spell that binds two willing people with an enchantment. The binding will take the form of a brightly colored tattoo around both target’s chosen fingers. This lasts until either party dispels it.
- To cast the spell both targets must chant “I bind my faith unto thee, grant me a safe passage home and the safety of our shore” while the caster casts the spell. The caster themselves can also be the target of the spell.
- Once the spell is cast, both targets of the spell can chant “Home is where the heart is” To create a tether between them and the target that only they can see. Potentially leading them back together. The spell will find any way it can to reach the other target, unless there is really no way to reach its destination (i.e. if they’re trapped inside an inescapable cave).
- Each target involved with the spell can at any point dispel it by chanting “I unbind our faiths as our paths diverge from our previous shores”. The spell is also dispelled if one of the targets dies.
- A target can have at most 2 people tethered to them. If either targets lack fingers then it can be cast on their wrist or whatever limb is available with the tattoo showing in the desired location..
Reason why you are making this request (if applicable) - I simply think it would be cool for my character to have a spell.
Roleplay & Lore supporting your request -
Fishing has been a staple job in Meiaquar, and one of the many fears of families is the thought of their loved ones at sea never making it back home. And so a spell was made to ease the hearts of their families. And while it comes in multiple names, one of its more popular titles is “Pinky Promise”, as the pinky finger is the usual one used for the spell. With this, the fishermen and their family can bind themselves with a promise that the fisherman will return and if he ever wishes then they would find their way back home. And if for by some chance the fishermen never made it out, at least their family would know of their unfortunate fate.
This is simply a variant of the rescue spell that has a more practical application. However, instead of pulling the target to the caster, the caster is able to bind two targets with an enchantment that enables them to find the location of one another. Not precisely but the direction to each other. This spell is able to cover a great distance, but due to its impracticality is rarely used by people. It just so happens that Kaene’s adoptive parents knew this spell and taught him about it.

[Korvara] Satsumi - Legendary Weapon Request |
Posted by: Silka - 04-05-2024, 04:46 AM - Forum: Approved Characters
- Replies (1)

 |
Applicable BYOND Key - Zilkat
Character Name - Kazenoaki Satsumi
Request Type - Magical Weapon / Artifact
Request Details - A weapon of legendary origin that has the ability to make jade constructs and turn things to jade.
Specific Request - The Jade Emperor's Eagle is a long blade made of magical jade stones, that is magically kept together through spiritual energy, that has an ancient seal shaped like an eagle's head, found on ancient ruins of the Wastes, deep underground, on an ancient location known as the Jade Palace, where snakemen roam and play with ancient relics of their former owners and ancestors, which were servants of the one Jade Emperor, who ruled over the Snakemen with Jade powers and energy that enforced a totalitarian state, where the Emperor would teach how to use the Jade Magic, and spread it from himself to his followers, slowly creating his army of ancient Jade harnessers.
- The weapon itself utilizes the spiritual energy to be able to fuel its magic, as it creates jade stones that change shape based on the user's will. The user must know to make whatever they want to make, meaning that the user must understand what they want to make, they can't simply say "I solve this problem with this magic", there's a need of deep understanding of what they're wanting to make with it.
- Its magic to turn things into jade is a completely different entity of power, that comes from the Jade Emperor's blessing, one that was imbued when his soul was placed in his weapon -- A power that gave him authority over the Snakemen that served him, much like a gorgon that turned others to stone, the emperor turned those who were against him into Jade, and the weapon harnesses this power to its potential, capable of turning from the simplest grain of sand, to a tree, into a pure Jade Statue.
- The weapon speaks to the user, as it contains the soul of the Jade Emperor, who refused to abandon the realms of humanity, with the interest of greed forevermore.
Reason why you are making this request (if applicable) - I want to make lore for an event for Satsumi's next weapon change (Griphon's Wing) but on a flavorful, and more interesting way, giving the character more depth through new magic and tools that allow her to expand her story from the current standpoint she's at, and a way to then push her away from her current state, to make her more interesting and give her a unique set of powers centered on a magical weapon that she owns and that she learns from.
I would like to make one small addenum to clarify a small thing about intent here:
I hold no interest to turn other PCs into stone. This is a small thing to clarify, as, despite its usefulness in combat or an assailant, it feels rather opposing to the values of Satsumi, but more importantly in my opinion, it insults other player's agency to fight my character. And while I do not want to limit what it can turn to stone (to use it as flavor for RP mobs and such), I would understand if it's something that must be done.
Roleplay & Lore supporting your request - The idea is to make the story of the Jade Emperor an element of ancient Duyuein folklore: an ancient tale about greed and power, of a man who harnessed a type of magic that none other achieved, and that in their interest and power, lost themselves and made themselves one with the snakemen, banished to the Wastes where their rule grew, but their "empire" was false, merely a tribe, a small power that was kept centered on one location that merely lead to the death of the man and his powers were lost to time. At least, in the perspective of the world, as the jade magic would be still used in the palace, even to this day. The weapon itself was made to preserve it, as the Emperor himself claimed that it was because of him that the magic could exist to begin with.

Time for a batshit suggestion!
Are you tired of evoker granting you only 2 spells for your desired element..? Are you tired of Shapeshifter being better at focusing on most elements? (Well... I'm not sure that'll ever change)
I believe Evoker should have a toggleable passive that allows them to shift the element of (some or most) evoker spells to whatever elemental buff they currently have, and have them grant the bonus spell effects of said spells.
Spell scrolls are a cool idea, but I believe aren't enough.. Fire Vyd doesn't even inflict lingering damage, and hardly has a reason at all to be used.
Evoker as it is, is almost entirely used to buff up boxer, or prop up hexer with HSDW, Lightning Evo is decent, Wind Evo is in a good place, but often outdone by ST, who just steal all the spells from Evo and get a nice bonus such as Typhur and Titan Gale, but all the other elements are kind of meh right now.
Aquamancer gets a full kit to focus on Water and has massive amounts of Utility, Priest does too with Light or Dark, and same with Hexer. When you select these classes, you're often looking at a ton of great buttons, whilst evoker and it's elements often get outshone by a class that just steals it's spells.
And while my suggestion might be batshit, I think something like it would greatly help with raising interest in the class, and having it be an actual option of interest for mage characters, because as it stands.. It's rarely picked up by even those.
