  [v2.84 v4 (Test)] Grenade Launcher
Posted by: Collector - 03-08-2024, 09:47 PM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (1)

Grenade launcher isn't using equipped gun weapons as casting tools and defaults to bare fists instead.

Testing was done using both a jackhammer and handgun (pictured) and assumes 69 fire attack, 57 strength, and rank 5 Explosive Art from engineer for the purposes of clarity.

  Prayers And Power
Posted by: Entropy - 03-08-2024, 09:15 PM - Forum: Balance Fu - Replies (9)

Korvara doesn't have religion. It doesn't have the prayer tool mechanic from g6.

This is pretty alright generally, even if it means basic hitters are basically down 10 crit, but generally not a big deal-with some exceptions.

Several races formerly had a significant power budget from their race's prayer tool. This isn't the biggest deal for Kaels, they get by fine. Glykins don't need their prayer at all to function-

Okay who am I kidding this is about hyattr. It's a hyattr issue. Hyattr need their prayer's fire breath buff so badly P L E A S E-

  [2.84c] Double Turning
Posted by: Rendar - 03-08-2024, 05:53 AM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (3)

If you Die Hard whilst you are the only member on your team, and you have summons active (Youkai, Ruler Pawns, etc)...

At the end of the round, before you diehard, they get to go.
At the start of the next round, where you Die hard, they get to go.
Then you the person die-harding get to go.

Before the person on the enemy team that, theoretically, should go before you because getting up from being down is supposed to put you at the end of initiative.

It's all fun and games until the engineer gets to start Railgan at end of turn, then instantly cast it to ping you for 300 damage (unevadable and unmitigatable).

This is.. frankly probably just a bigger bag of worms with Round Robin + Summons in general, but I'm at my wits end for 'Kill the Engineer. Ope. Eat 30% of your HP.'

  Wormloop Gauss | Chimera Appearance
Posted by: neverachiever - 03-08-2024, 05:12 AM - Forum: Character Applications - No Replies

Applicable BYOND Key - Neverachiever
Character Name - Dr. Wormloop "Worm Extremities" Gauss. (Not a real doctor.)
Request Type - Chimera appearance (+ minor abilities, I guess?!?)
Request Details - This is going to make me sound like a madman, but I want to make a bizarre chimera that is simultaneously very proud of his worminess, but also very wary of his spideriness. My concept is a surrealist version of the Jekyll & Hyde tale. He wishes to one day become a full-fledged worm and aerate all the soil of the world to make it a more fertile place for everybody, but the selfish, predatorial carnivore inside him has desires that run completely on the opposite current. His creator unknowingly gave him some pretty serious mental health issues by feeding him two things of drastically different natures, and much introspection on his appearance traits have created a pretty odd slew of mental processes. What I am here for is getting a check on those traits.
Specific Request - As a chimera, Worm was made on a diet of waste lauder and some species of arachnid monster. These are his mutations:

  • Chelicerae. Retractable spider teeth, pointy and sharp, but lacking any real venom -- although I've been enjoying the mental image of him being able to spritz some small amount of sandworm acid through them. They're normally hidden within his mouth (which is also normally taped) but they're a little too inconvenient, so whenever he opens his mouth enough, they spring out.
  • Spider eyes, but not quite: instead of having eight eyes, he has eight irises and eight pupils, which... kind of float squished together in his sclera like frog eggs. They're mostly useless and don't offer much aside from slightly better-than-average eyesight, but I'm completely fine with making the extra irises/pupils entirely aesthetic.
  • Bug arms. They're functionally the same as a normal hand: five fingers, a normal palm, etc. The only difference is that his fingers are unnaturally long, thin and even a little sharp, and his arms are made of some skeletal chitinous material. Good for playing guitar and look really pretty when they're pointing at things... I guess...?
  • Segmented worm body. His torso/legs/arms are covered in thin, barely-visible lines like a worm's segments. They give him some degree of flexibility (think gymnast, or yoga practitioner) and good movement in water, dirt or sand, just like a real worm. Unlike a real worm, however, he wasn't built for this, so assume "good movement" just means he can happily frolick under the dirt a little better than your average weirdo, rather than being able to dig tunnels and swim underground.
  • Worm tail. It's just a barely-convenient black tail that resembles that of a worm, and... doesn't really do much other than convince himself that he is a worm. It can regrow if you cut it, but that's about it.
  • Please let him have lauder acid so he can digest dirt.
All of these are just to spice up my interpretative journey. I don't really want or need any special abilities, just to make a character that looks weird as fuck.
Reason why you are making this request (if applicable) -
  1. Chimeras are cool, but the guidelines aren't very clear on how far you can push the weird.
  2. I love body horror.
  3. I want to push for something a little more bizarre to fit the "Adams Family member and the creepy butler" vibe me and a friend who's also joining have gone for in our talks.
  4. You'll see pigs flying before I make a normal character anywhere.
  5. I don't think these alterations provide significant, if any at all, advantages, fair or not. Some of them are more inconvenient for him than otherwise, and that's kind of the point! But I was told "weird mouths" are a bit of a you gotta ask for it thing, so here I am.
  6. I'm stubborn and I don't want to spend 30 hours looking for another faceclaim.......
Roleplay & Lore supporting your request -
  • I'm fairly new to SL (although I have been here for a few months before!) so I'm not very familiar with what has or hasn't been done. But going through the Discord, the forums and some members, there have been enough bizarre-looking chimeras to make me think this is a pretty reasonable set of mutations.
  • I think there have been spider chimeras before, and I know there have been some lauders and even a sitakatrin as well, but I have no idea what the players have done with them. I'm kind of hoping they were crazier than me so I can justify all of those requests.

  Amalgama and Spirits
Posted by: Trexmaster - 03-08-2024, 02:10 AM - Forum: Suggestions - Replies (6)

It feels silly to me that Amalgama, which function heavily off of having 5/5 spirits start the game having none and need to drop a nigh mandatory 4 talent points into Spiritualism to utilize their big racial skill, and pay a trait in order to access what should be innate to their race to begin with. Not to mention all the time spent running around grabbing spirits they'd actually want.

Thus I propose a few suggestions:

1. Spirit Shell should be inherent to Amalgama rather than a trait to be bought. Just make it a racial of theirs instead of a trait. Not losing spirits should be something given for free to a race that requires them to function fully.

2. Amalgama should inherently have a possession cap of 5 and be able to perceive spirits. It's a fair few talent points saved though it's something that should be inherent to a race that is intrinsically linked to spirits. I'd argue the same for Reaper/Apertaurus at least being able to perceive naturally if not also a bonus to exorcism/release.

3. Amalgamas should be able to select white/black spirits to begin the game with. They'd be +1 HP/FP / +3% damage to give at least some reason to try gambling post creation for those so inclined.

2 and 3 might be iffy with 3 requiring some finagling to deal with white spirits but it'd be nice to alleviate the need to go running around for spirits as part of character creation for Amalgama, at least, who crutch so heavily upon them as a race.

1 I feel is pretty reasonable. Even going by the description of the trait it's something Amalgama just have already yet it's locked behind a trait for some reason. If nothing else please give us at least that much.......

  [v2.84c] Battle Spawn Positions
Posted by: Trexmaster - 03-07-2024, 09:43 AM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (3)

Currently battle maps do not appear to be respecting spawn positions for either team.

[Image: image.png?ex=65fc00cf&is=65e98bcf&hm=1b7...142a612f5&]

Only the stone eater in this picture has moved. Those golems are at their starting position in this fight which was not a back attack.

As far as I am aware neither of those spots are spawn positions.

  Forbidden Technique
Posted by: Snake - 03-07-2024, 05:03 AM - Forum: Balance Fu - Replies (3)

I don't know if it's called 'Forbidden' because it's dangerous to use, or because it's a complete bait of a potential skill. I do have a suggestion on how to make it better or at least more interesting, hopefully.

Quote:Dagger's Potential Skill: Inflicts you with Cursed Vengeance LV10 for 5 rounds.

Quote:"Cursed Vengeance - Every round, your HP will be drained by 10%, and LV will be increased by the amount drained. Performing a basic attack will use this status to increase its Power by LV, but you will take 50% of your basic attack's damage as protection-ignoring Retaliation damage. (Taking damage from enemies will also increase LV by the damage taken.)"

  Albedo Operative
Posted by: Trexmaster - 03-07-2024, 01:53 AM - Forum: Suggestions - No Replies

Can the trait Albedo Operative be given the Sigrogana Nation Start req?

Just so it doesn't exist as a trap option for Korvara players to waste their points on.

I'd say the same for Minor Nobility but that can at least make sense in Korvara's setting even if the trait does absolutely nothing bar maybe a discount in the Smuggler's Cave since it uses Law's End Reputation for some reason.

[v.2.84 v2] Battle Map Oddities - No Escape

[Image: Screenshot_2024-03-02_234629.png?ex=65fb...5b1a950e5&]

If you look in the bottom corner of the image, you'll see that the green box does not go all the away around the battlefield anymore. This is not just a visual effect - you cannot flee at all where the green border isn't present, and it seems to happen pretty much universally across battle maps from what I can see.
