  Torso Enchants

Let's face it. Most torso catalysts don't really hold a candle to Gigantic Gene. 10% increase in HP (usually 90-100, sometimes more) is hard to pass up, and the weight bonus ends up being a benefit to some classes even. At worst, it prevents you from using boulder on your armor. Dodgies are an exception, of course, given the evade penalty.

Notable potential fill-ins for it include:

Leviathan - Lesser GG, good if you can't afford the weight or evade penalty.
Tannin - If you're really hurting for focus somehow, could be okay? Seems niche, but I can see it.
Mutation - EXTREMELY niche, I personally wouldn't use it for torso, but I can potentially maybe see how someone would if they really had to.
Bleached Fang - Used to not even consider this an option, but I heard someone say that the damage from a dodged crit would make up for the 100ish HP you get from GG, so that makes enough sense to me.
Pitch Black Feather - Not worth it for the armor, but I can see the evade being pretty nice if you're an engineer or summoner.

Things that won't be included in the 'too weak to consider' section mostly just include the Elemental enchants and the like, as they can at least be put on the legs or hands instead of the (in my opinion) more valuable torso slot.


Now onto the true headscratchers for me:

Volcanic Seed - I don't really think of substituting torso to weapon the same way I think of subbing torso to hand or leg, thus why this is here. As a torso slot, this is... awful. I'm not entirely sure why it was nerfed to begin with, but level 15 field tiles of an element that's easily resisted to begin with is just... bad. There is NO way I can see this ever being a suitable option over leviathan, fang or giant gene. Also the little 25 HP and the synergy with Firebird, but I'm not really sure that elevates that to the level of the others.
Sweet Leaf - 30% chance to inflict charm level... 10. Charm is a powerful status, don't get me wrong, but 10 is very low for it being only 30% chance for 3 rounds. Doing damage to your target lowers that duration per instance, too. If it was a 100% chance and didn't lower duration per hit, it'd still only break even with Giant Gene (10% DR vs 10% extra damage you can take. Not fully equivalent, but you get the point.) If you go before others, there's a chance you won't even get to see the benefit of this at all.

So, what changes would I propose for these? Well...

Volcanic Seed - Yeah, I have no idea. I can't imagine it was nerfed for no reason, so I don't think my 'just revert it back' would be very helpful.
Sweet Leaf - Now this one, I actually have something for:
30% chance on round start to inflict all enemies in 3 range with Charm level 15 for 3 rounds. When damaging a target with Charm level 15 or lower, don't lower the duration of the charm.

I feel this is more in line with the Alraune it drops from, and its a slight bit more numerically significant to actually hold up to the other torso slot items.


Either way. Let me know if you think any of the fill-ins I mentioned should actually be buffed, or if you have any ideas for buffs or anything, especially for volcanic seed.

Request Details -
I want my character to be able to invent and market a new piece of technology: the focus board.

The focus board is essentially an etch a sketch that uses focus and a focus sensitive sand to allow the user to draw and write on. Its housing is made up of a special iron-etherium alloy that gives it decent strength, but also allows it to automatically repair itself from minor damage. It also can expand and contract to different sizes. From the size of a large poster (equivalent of a shout) down to the size of a cell phone (for whispers).

In addition to allowing a user to draw or write on it, the board can be used to print said drawings to paper as well. After pulling a pin, the board can be pressed down to turn the pad into a printing plate. Cover the board in ink, and it can be placed down on paper or loaded into some type of press to make copies of whatever the user wrote or drew.

It was initially designed to allow mute characters to more easily communicate without carrying absurd amounts of paper, but it could easily be used by other characters looking for an convenient place to take notes and share them with their allies.

Usability depends on the user's level of focus control:
     People with excellent focus control can draw or write on it by simply directing their focus into whatever shape they desire, and erase it in a similar fashion.

     Those with less focus control can still draw on it by directing a small amount of focus into their finger or a stylus to draw on it like a regular tablet. And erase it by drawing the focus away from the board in the same way.

     Those with no focus control at all can still use it via a stylus that draws a small amount of focus from its environment. The image decays slowly over time as the focus depletes, but it can be quickly erased by using a focus absorbing bar attached to the side of the board. Shaking it hard works as well, but it tends to only fuzz the image not completely erase it without a certain amount of decay time.

Reason why you are making this request (if applicable) -

Its an idea I had while my character was recovering from a neck injury, and i was RPing being mute. Playing charades with people was interesting, but I was laughing about the immense amounts of paper required for him to talk to anyone in detail.
Necessity is the mother of invention, and i figured this experience could inspire someone with Linzi's expertise to develop such a product.


Roleplay & Lore supporting your request -

With his knowledge of alchemy(lvl 6), metalworking(lvl 3), and his engineering knowledge he was able to fashion this device. His main class engineer can create robots controlled by streams of focus, so making a drawing pad that uses focus to control sand seems well within the pale of his abilities and the technological landscape of Korvara.

Linzi has a small workshop and is trying to find things to sell to further his business ventures to make money for a special project. Should the product perform well he could expand his operations or work with other industrialist characters to mass produce it.

If accepted, I plan to run a product demonstration somewhere showcasing this, and other things he's invented to put his company on the map.

RP justification:

Due to a neck injury, my character was unable to speak for a decent period of time. Forcing him to talk through body language, and writing notes on paper. During this time he wished he had a way to communicate that didn't require him to carry a books worth of paper and ink around, or and endless game of charades. Thus he was inspired to create this product.  His neck recovered, but even with the ability to speak, the pad was a great way to take notes, draw on, or copy his writing to multiple pages. If it was this useful to him, why not to others, whether they could speak or not?

A number of early excel crash, mainly mage basic spells require a excel tome to function, despsite the fact that many means to gain weapon charges without excelgraph/a mutated 6 star excel line weapon.

What I ask for is that these spells and whatever other skills currently require a Excel weapon be changed to the current iteration of excel skills have been designed around.

Gain +20 Evade for 1 attack, 3 rounds after casting a Sylphid spell.

This is the current text and effect. 

It's bad. 

That's really bad.

This nerf consolidated a lot of evade setups so that non rogues can't really reach evade cap, something that is one hundred and ten percent necessary in the current hit meta.

I'll be honest, I think a straight up  revert is fine. Take it to 25/3 rounds again. Please. Un-centralize evades.

The Performer Class

It should come as a surprise to absolutely none of you when the Performers are sung as the "objectively" the 'worst' class.
But is it really the case? Is it really the worst class? 
To quite the numbers of people that touched Performer, "Yes!"
To others that didn't, "I don't know?"
And the hopeful few "No!"

But the Performer itself is like a melody of staggering failure with no real connection. It's a very weird class with no solid route whatsoever other than 'Oh well it's not that good as I thought.' in lot of ways.

Before we start discussing the essential flaw of Performers. It's better you get to know their skills.



THE OFFENSIVE SKILLS

SINGING MECHANIC

What qualify as non-basic skill? Well. Almost Everything. Dance skills will break singing. Hell's beating will break singing. Some of the Dark bards' offensive skill will restart Singing, but does not say that on their description. Meaning it's all knowledge-check to see what skills give you Singing, and retains Singing. Because a few passives and innates require that you are to be Singing on start of new round. It can be frustrating to make a decision on what skills you need to use your last 3M on, before you end turn otherwise you won't benefit from Singing.


THE PROBLEM

If at any point in this thread, you start to notice the issue in the room. There's that glaring slowly waking problem that you've finally started to notice as soon as you reach the bottom. You may be keenly aware of what made Performer such a bad class. But if you somehow managed to reach to this point, innocent with no real build technical knowledge, and thought there's nothing wrong. Then you need more experience.

But if you really want to know why. Then let it be written:

The Performer as a class is a class that have too many conditions required to fulfill. 
And also many of the benefits have a fancy string attached, that you don't recognize.

For example, the Bard Support Skills improvement are effective until you attack twice. Then you have to re-apply the song to get the new benefit again. Or you can be attacked three time, and potentially lose all three increased evades because you didn't dodge any of them.

There's also other conditions like needing to inflict Song of Sus, then hoping you win the dice-roll on an enemy to convert them. However this is pointless if said enemy is higher than level 70. Making it immensely pointless skills to take at high-end PvE. Lot of Performer skills are like that.

Pointless. 
There are select few good Performer considerations like Shower of Applause, Beat It, or Warmonger's Drum. However. You cannot subclass Performer. Too many main-class functions however. And even then, subclassing it is stupid idea. Because you would have to reapply Singing by using a Bard Song Skill. Which is why almost no build would take Performer Subclass unless you're insane to do Ghost/Performer. (I know you're eyeing that Warmonger's Drum.)

But at the end of the day. You're better off going Dark Bard.

its a bad skill, tattoo are difficult to slot in and the only one most mages will be running are barrier and maybe charm

a 3m skill with a 5 turn cooldown that grants a 50% one hit damage shield and rolls an inflict for a 3-turn level 15 charm isn't great. the fp reduction from arcane tattoo is also irrelevant, especially given it's a two-turn duration. given its momentum cost and cooldown, you would expect this to be on the same level of power as wraithguard or swift rune crafting, but it's not even worth spending SP on

i'm not sure what direction to go in to fix this, but i've had a few ideas

1. keep tattoo refresh effects as is, but knock it down to 1m (comparing a main class cooldown to magic stones, and the magic stones are still better tbh)
2. keep tattoo refresh effects as-is, but make casting the attached spell cost 0m and consume the Tattoo Refresh status once cast (invokes would only make the actual casting 0m, not the chant)
3. keep tattoo refresh effects as-is, but make it automatically activate when casting the spell attached to the arcane tattoo passive
4. change tattoo absorb to amplify the effect of all tattoos (extra DR/charges on barrier, higher level/duration on charm, etc)
5. some combination of the above

Whenever I talk about this, people don't seem to understand. Which is okay- this feeling of mine is derived from emotion, from something innate to my being. It isn't logically decided upon from thought or from witnessing the progress and results of others. It is core, of heart and soul. Nonetheless, I am compelled to get the feelings into words, and from words to here.

I hate objectively describing myself. To self-examine is to be lost in a mirror of your own creation; it is much better to reflect upon how others see you than to attempt to see yourself and be blinded by your own narcissism. "I am smart", "I am dumb", "I am unlucky", "I am emotionally tough". Whenever I hear people say those things about themselves, almost entirely it is the opposite of the truth. Their own perception of what should be their own smartness ironically makes them miss many opportunities to reflect. An observation of their unluckiness drags them down into despair, when another's own day had the same luck- they just picked upon the weeds of their green grasses when the field next over is all the same. Now, this isn't to say I don't describe myself- I call myself a narcissist flat-out, and I love admiring myself in the mirror. But this is not "I am beautiful to others", this is "I am beautiful to me". I love my eye bags, hair strewn about my face. I care not for conventional. I care for what I feel. I give into my base desires so simply.

 People often call me nice. I am not nice, or at least, not in the sense most would consider nice. This is hypocritically describing myself, yes, which fills me with both disgust and wonder. To explain further, I see being nice is when you derive happiness from the success of others, whether actual or desired. To help those who need help, to take other's feelings into consideration, to have many perspectives to make the best outcome possible you can attempt. That is the entirety of nice. What I have is more. I enjoy humanity completely. There isn't a distinction in the most heartfelt enjoyment between nice and not. It's not about quality, but quantity.

I love my fiancé. I love my folks, and my sister and her husband, and my fiancé's folks. I work at a job that pays way more than I'm used to, and I work from home, so I have no need to waste gas for anything but pleasure. I appreciate those who live in my life, and the life I live. But there's always more. Always from the heart, beating endlessly. To love humanity as a whole. Each of my conscious loves are specific, developed over time and with trust and work. And that's amazing... to have built a life for myself out of my connections and experiences. But my love, not loves, but love... that which waits, that feeling that needn't grow but is always there; people.

I love people. Their successes. Their failures. Their comedies and tragedies and gaining people and losing people and the fighting and the cooperation and all of it is so much. It's so much, but yet it's just right. As it was meant to be. To sunder another... to go against the wishes of them, their family, their friends, their life. Both their misery of such a loss and the appreciation of any help given fills me to the brim with love. The love, singular. I don't expect you to understand. Even if you do, it doesn't matter. My joy remains the same. For humanity.

I don't give into the most base of love due to the sheer quantity of my other loves, for my darling who I would do anything for, for my folks who I owe my life and success, and so on. If I had none of those, I wouldn't be miserable. I'd certainly be upset at first- I am human myself, after all. But I'm not gone. I still have the love. To find humans. To find humanity. To see all, joy and misery and fear and hate and jubilation. To be mocked is the same as being cheered. To be cursed is the same as being hailed. Some others might act out in hate, in destructive tendencies fueled by dogmas or a view of the world developed by sights so tainted that the violence is merely reactive to such feelings. But the love isn't hateful. It's pure- it just exists. It is.
