[Bonder] A toggled tweak for Bonders.
Posted by: Ranylyn - 03-24-2015, 04:13 AM - Forum: Balance Fu - Replies (2)

If you have a single bonded Youkai, Ritual Sword automatically summons it. This is both amazing and terrible all at once. You get two actions for the price of one, basically... but... sometimes you just want to use Ritual Sword for FP management, and then you get hit with the youkai upkeep cost.

Or, we can look at Shared Pain/ Shared Joy. Your Youkai are lower levelled than you and you don't want them to share your damage? Your youkai are sturdier than you, and only you need the heals?

In all of these circumstances, unsummoning them costs precious momentum, and is not always an option.

Basically, I'm proposing a toggle on if Youkai count as bonded or not. It would disable all bonding benefits, such as Shared Pain/Joy, Fight As One, Synchro Summon, and completely disable Riagri until re-enabled. The toggle can be placed at the top of the Youkai menu and be bundled together with the Bonding/Level innate from the skill tree.

  Icon Face States Guide
Posted by: Mivereous - 03-24-2015, 02:45 AM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

So you want to have more than one emotion, or maybe a cleaner version of the one you do have? Here's a something I threw together!

Step One - Pick Face(s)

So you've found a profile picture. Neat!

Kinda too big to use as a face state though, isn't it? How about we size it down using a zoom feature, either in our browser or image viewer of choice.

Better. Now to make sure it fits to size aspect of 16x16, 32x32, 96x96, or 128x128. As long as it is perfectly square, it should look good.

96x96

If you are going to be using more than one face state, you would make more in this same manner.

Step Two - Creating a .DMI file

Did you know that downloading BYOND gave you the Dreammaker tool as well? This tool is what can be used to make icons and in our case, face states!
The default location for this software is: CTonguerogram Files (x86)BYONDin

Default location for BYOND and related software.

Open that up, click File, New Environment, and choose a name. Then, click the dropdown arrow and choose to make a .dmi file.

Making a .dmi file.

From there, you should see something like this:

If you have your square face image saved, you can right click in the large white area on the right side, and click Import to insert the image. If you plan on making your own face icon, you can click the paint palette next to the camcorder icon to begin drawing. If you Import, you can double click on your image to make further edits. Check Step Three for info on how to add transparency in Dreammaker.

Image added to .dmi file. Double click slightly below the image to rename the face state, for easy change access.

Simply add as many face states as the game allows in this manner, and it will be the most efficient way to use your upload space and allow quick face state change if you add more to the file!

Step Three - Adding Transparency

I guess that white space behind our head is kinda unsightly in the chat, huh? There's an easy fix for this! Simply double click as if to edit your image, slide the Alpha bar (all the way on the right) to the bottom (zero), and choose the Flood tool, then click the background colour you wish to remove. Once done, click the arrow in the bottom right, and it will save your changes and take you back to the overall view of the .dmi file.

Preview 96x96 without white background.

Conclusion and Advanced Tools

So that's the quick and easy way to do this, but there are also other kind of editors you can use if you wish to edit images or remove/change backgrounds. My personal favourite is the Pixlr Photo Editor, because I have no money, and it's an online tool, so no download required. I hear GIMP is pretty good, too. Also free I believe, but requires download. And if you're lucky enough to have Photoshop, good on you! However, remember only .png files (to my knowledge) can keep transparency when saved.

If you have any questions, leave 'em below, and I'm sure myself or someone else better than me can answer!

  Facestates, how do they work?
Posted by: Nickolasthe9 - 03-24-2015, 12:25 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (6)

Idk if this goes here but it's worth a shot
I've seen people switch the state of their faceicon to convey different character emotions or some sort, i also know how to change it, but the problem is, idk how to set one up
I got a full set of faceicons drawn in different states but i don't know how to add more than just the default one
I tried searching around but i either am searching wrong or it just hasn't been asked
It'd really help me with rp stuff if i can physically show emotion a bit better

  [BUG] Jiisan's Trap Card
Posted by: Blissey - 03-23-2015, 10:56 PM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (2)

Acquiring one or multiple medals from Medaru Jiisan in Oniga apparently forces a freeze on you. Relogging fixes this, but using the near-automatic .reconnect method gives you a blackscreen. What a conniving, sniveling old man.

  A special type of Hell
Posted by: Soapy - 03-23-2015, 10:40 PM - Forum: The Great Six - No Replies

[headline=2]Overview[/headline]Across the world of Sigrogana, stories of some sort of underworld or afterlife are not particularly uncommon. This is merely one of those stories.

Located spiritually adjacent to the Human Realm (Sigrogana), the Demon Realm (Hell) is somewhat similar to the Youkai Realm (Astral Plane) in that it cannot normally be reached, at least not in the traditional sense. With tighter security and dangerous corporeal inhabitants, passage in and out of Hell is not only exceedingly rare, but also exceptionally dangerous. Information is scarce, but whether it's due to these reasons or a result of something else entirely is unknown.

[headline=2]Inhabitants[/headline]The Human Realm is controlled by Humans, the Youkai Realm is controlled by Youkai, and the Demon Realm is no different when it comes to this.

[headline=4]Demons[/headline]The 'normal' inhabitants of Hell. Similar in appearance to Humans, though with distinct differences. Their social system is similar to ours, but it possesses greater extremes on both ends. Note that most of these 'types' are simply observable differences between Demons, not necessarily a different 'species' or what-have-you.

[headline=5]Brutes[/headline]The most common Demon sub-type. They often have thick, powerful horns, like those of a ram. Their limbs are hardened into what can best be described as pillars, growing to cover their back as well given enough time to age. Their physical strength is enormous, and their bodies are tough, though they are often slow-moving.

[headline=5]Speed Demons[/headline]Another common sub-type. Their horns are usually thin and pointed, more suitable for impalement than bashing. Their limbs are hardened into a lightweight material, and tend to have blades jutting out. Their physical strength is average, but they possess immense speed. Their bodies are resistant compared to Humans.

[headline=5]Crossroads Demons[/headline]An uncommon sub-type. They often lack horns, or simply have small pointed nubs instead. Their arms are identical to Human arms, though they still possess the standard hooves most Demons have. These are the Demons most commonly encountered, as they make various contracts with Humans in exchange for their souls.

[headline=5]Succubi and Incubi[/headline]It is commonly said that no creature, Human or Demon, can resist these beings. Described as being overwhelmingly beautiful, highly manipulative, and great in bed.

[headline=4]Devils[/headline]Immensely powerful Demons, it is said that one Devil could conquer the Human Realm within days. Information on them is scarce, as few Demons claim to have ever seen a Devil in person. Though there is no concrete proof they exist, nearly all Demons seem to be assured of their presence and power, and they fear them greatly.

[headline=4]Fiends[/headline]Not actually Demons in the traditional sense, simply powerful mindless beasts that roam the outer circles. They have no specific appearance, though most have at least two mouths and dangerously sharp claws or talons. They often travel in packs, where fights over leadership are common and generally end in cannibalism.

[headline=2]Geography[/headline]Hell is a... dark place, for lack of a better term. It is a place of corruption and conflict, death and deceit. As some may know, it is divided into nine sections, though there are common misconceptions about these 'circles'. The inner sections are inhabited by the 'upper class', while the outer sections are little more than wastelands.

[headline=4]Sections[/headline]
[headline=5]Section One: Ostium[/headline]The center section. A place where souls are judged by an enormous serpent.

[headline=5]Section Two: Lupanar[/headline]A half-circle around Ostium. A place where Incubi and Succubi reside in depravity.

[headline=5]Section Three: Caupona[/headline]Another half-circle. A guarded place, reserved for only the most renowned Demons.

[headline=5]Section Four: Forum[/headline]The third circle, a place of commerce. Souls and lives are traded for many things here.

[headline=5]Section Five: Colosseum[/headline]A half-circle, a place of fighting. Confident Demons engage Fiends in combat for sport.

[headline=5]Section Six: Puteus[/headline]Another half-circle, another place of fighting. Demons combat each other here, often fatally.

[headline=5]Section Seven: Acies[/headline]The fourth circle, a torn place of war. Groups clash in a never-ending struggle for dominance.

[headline=5]Section Eight: Eremus[/headline]The fifth circle, dotted by ruins. Fiends are very common here. Few, if any, choose their place here.

[headline=5]Section Nine: Carcer[/headline]The final circle, a stone wall. Fiends originate here. Few have managed to scale it, and none have returned.

[headline=5]Nothing written here should be taken as fact.[/headline]
This is a work in progress.

  Accelia Failure

Kicking with Accelia boots on, while having Charge Weapon levels, causes the kick to do absolutely nothing.

No damage, no knockback, not even a message displayed.

  The Dragon King Set
Posted by: Trexmaster - 03-23-2015, 09:41 PM - Forum: Balance Fu - Replies (8)

So, with the recent addition of another item to the set (which still just adds +5% strength) I feel like at least it could use an adjustment to be made viable whatsoever.

Even if not to the set itself, the item in question (which I do not have to give specifics), /only/ acts as a part of the set, thus only gives +5% strength. It seems good until you realize that for every 20 STR you have, you get 1 STR. Meaning that in order to gain a benefit greater than the items we already have that do that, you'd need 100 STR (and to make it comparable/useful at all, you'd need 80.)

Maybe a bigger bonus for having more pieces of the set beyond +5% str each?

  Upgrading guns: Shotgun failure.
Posted by: THE Xecron - 03-23-2015, 08:58 PM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (2)

I tried to upgrade my shotguns after seeing the new update and instantly hit a bug. Like all weapons that can be upgraded, you have the ability to upgrade the power. However, I have maxed out the upgrade of multi shotguns and they haven't added the power to the base power. As seen in Figure A and B

Figure A: Maxed out Shotgun with base 8 (because galdric reduces power by 2)
http://gyazo.com/4b7d8957df7d83f74d903afbb2dc8589

Figure B: Evidence of the maxed out shotgun
http://gyazo.com/7227346b8f2055e3e213e1fec1caf79f

I have tested this on multiple shotguns and it has produced the same result. In addition to this, I have had word that snipers also aren't applying the power to it, so this may be an issue for one shot guns because the power adds to autopistols just fine.

  Rocket Launcher Fail
Posted by: Rendar - 03-23-2015, 08:32 PM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (1)

The Jackhammer only targets 1 enemy within the AoE. This sucks. Also, even if it did work properly it would probably not apply 'on hit' effects to all targets even if it's a single target. That should definitely work.
