Physical and Magical Defense can go into the negatives. This is mostly prominent with things like Sand Hand, Fungus Amongus that reduce your Phys/Mag Def by 40% as well.

It's anyone's guess if the minimum is supposed to be 0, but I figured I'd report it regardless.

Are you certain? I've never noticed this happening in the past, and used sand hands and purple shrooms as my only mercenaries for awhile.
