State of Voilegard

State of Voilegard

This thread will be used to post notice on Voilegard's current status, important figures/groups in Voilegard, etc.

Current Village Policies: http://pastebin.com/DWMw2MRL

Town Status: Voilegard continues to steadily rise in both economy and general villager content, with most villagers agreeing that keeping Voilegard quiet and rural is certainly the way to go. The militia is, unfortunately, still scarce, and no new Militia Captain has been named since the heroic fall of Ser Joshua Jonas, former Militia Captain.

The Mayor has been making strides in implementing Voilegard's renovation: the Salamander Structure is expanding in Voilegard, streets will get a much needed lift and refinement, and more housing and places of business are also to be built. All of this is due to the continued efforts of the villagers and farmers who continue to support Voilegard's proliferation throughout the long weeks, months, and years.

A Mage's Guild is also said to be coming to Voilegard, although these are presently just rumors and has not been publicly confirmed by the Mayor. A Mage's Guild being established in Voilegard is certainly no small feat, and some think it has to do with the somewhat recent terrorist attack of Black Falcon on the small village, as well as the increasing boom in agriculture production that Voilegard provides the Great Six. Some may even speculate that Karaten might have an increasing interest in the Darkwood Manor, although this seems unlikely due to the state of Darkwood at the moment compared to it in the past.

Suffice to say, the Mayor has plans in the works...

Current Mayor: Liliana Lacoste
Militia Captain: Vacant
Militia Lieutenant: Ser Hanako
Town Apothecary: Esrose Rios ('Ess')

Los Cazadores are also informally part of the Voilegard Militia, but they are primarily in charge of protecting people from the Darkwood Manor. They do not take orders from the Militia or the Mayor unless it has to do with the Darkwood Manor or Voilegard itself.
The status of the Darkwood Manor is: SEVERELY BARRED. (IC ONLY, NOT OOCLY) Those magically attuned or that are Zerans can sense a magical barrier of sorts surrounding the manor as well. It seems to be spiritually enforced, keeping whatever ilk in, though not necessarily keeping others out.

Local Job Opportunities

Agriculturalist (1): Manages and handles all farmer needs and keeps a financial tally of how much has been harvested and sold to the Empire for profit. Reports directly to the Mayor and is given room, board, and meals. Is expected to keep track of all these finances and, if ever necessary, other duties as assigned.

Militia: Currently not recruiting until a new militia captain is named.

Regarding the recent attack orchestrated by Black Falcon

"The misfortune that has befallen Voilegard is met with heavy hearts today. The scourge of Black Falcon, led by one Arael Schlager and his overgrown insect abomination, Mother, will never be forgotten. The lives of the brave militia who toiled and fought for the safety of Voilegard, and by extension the safety of Sigrogana, will not be forgotten. The grand sacrifice that Ser Joshua Jonas, Captain of the Voilegard Militia for many, many years, will certainly not be forgotten, and his memory and his achievements shall be forever immortalized and honored for years to come.

Voilegard, however small, will remain strong. It is thanks to our militia and the brave adventurers, as well as the Empire's First Squad, that Voilegard is still standing today. And Voilegard will continue to stand today. The Darkwood Manor will continue to stand today, and the new horrors within shall be abated. The plague that has befallen the perimeter of Voilegard and its wilderness will be met with punity and great charge. Although Black Falcon has caused much damage and has slowed down much needed progress in their attempt to use Voilegard as a catalyst for their putrid plague, we will continue to go forth into the future. Voilegard is much a part of the Empire as Cellsvich, Tannis, and Dormeho -- and as such we share in the Empire and Emperor's vision that Voilegard will remain eternal, and shall not bend the knee to these villains.

Long live Voilegard, long live the Emperor, and long live the Empire."

Regarding the Dusk infestation in the Darkwood Manor

"As it is known, the Darkwood Manor has always been a nexus of spiritual activity -- more often dangerous than benign. The recent attack by Black Falcon and their abomination known as 'Mother' heavily disturbed what little balance we have been able to maintain on the Manor, infecting it with these parasites known as 'Dusks'. In no small part through the efforts of the First Squad, the Dusk infestation is a thing of the past within it. The manor will, of course, remain severely barred. All trespassers without written approval from the Mayor of Voilegard or the First Squad of Sigrogana will be met with the highest punity from the Imperii Legi. This is a promise, not a warning.

Voilegard reminds its constituents that, although the Black Falcon assault is in the past, we must continue to heal and be vigilant. Although the manor has been cleansed of these parasites, that is not yet completely true for the surrounding perimeter. Voilegard continues to thank the First Squad and the adventurers who seek to purge the Dusk parasites from the surrounding wilderness."

Regarding the purge of the Dusk Plagues surrounding the village perimeter

"It is a joyous day in Voilegard for the Dusk Plagues that have been corroding the country-side and the forests surrounding our quaint village have been finally expunged, in no small effort from the Sigrogana First Squad and the multitude of brave adventurers who challenged the ferocious threat, and won. Voilegard thanks these adventurers with full hearts, allowing us to continue to flourish with one less worry on our mind. However, Voilegard remains vigilant. Even though I acknowledge we are in a weakened state, more than ever before, we will continue to put in all efforts that we can manage on our side to prevent further attacks, and burgeon Voilegard's growth anew. Voilegard hopes to continue to rely on the brave adventurers and the Empire against these threats.

And the militia who aided the First Squad and the adventurers against this plague are also to thank. Even if they are few right now, I am gracious for their continued assistance in protecting their own.

Sincerely, thank you all.

I would also like to recognize a good Samaritan, one Daniel Sogurou, for his continued assistance in providing food, housing, and comfort for the villagers of Voilegard as a whole. His continued efforts have not gone unnoticed. For if I could provide a proper award, but as it is known, Voilegard simply does not have that kind of budget -- yet."
