I don't know if this will occur when Shael is presented with a solid object in general or just this one spot, but, he's been stuck here for the past hour or so.
He was able to move through the earlier parts of the dungeon, but, he got stuck here as I was following him.

Just going to retire this behavior for now. It was funny, but it did cause some overhead CPU usage and chasing him down for the quest gets annoying.
