(this tree is really annoying and blocks direct passage through the forest. it'd be nice if there could a beaten path through the forest, but at the very least can we get this tree out of the way)

You can just walk around the side of the forest and bypass this area entirely.

I think it would be nice for a small forest path to be added but I think that could be accomplished without removing the tree. Mainly because of it's a bit irking that the World Map indicates dirt paths in and out on both sides yet it's full-out grass when you're in the Forest map.
I'm also kind of surprised you encourage people walking around, Dev.
