Add a Like/Dislike button to the topic.
People will be able to show that they like a certain idea, and that the general masses have a desire for it to be implemented, without having to type "+1, I approve", and add a comment that

It's not a bad idea, but just because the general masses like it, doesn't mean it's ever going to be implemented.

Yeah. It just shows "Hey, people like this idea! I don't have to read the comments to see this!"
And, also, it keeps the comments from having a random interjection of, "+1 this".

I'd rather people post what they like about it or what they hate about it, rather than just clicking a button or even typing '+1 I support it'.
