Also you mentioned this can detect illusions and spirits are unable to phase through.
1. How foolproof is it at detecting illusions, is there any counter to this?
2. I'd probably make it so spirits equal or weaker to the casters strength is applicable to being trapped/kept to a reasonable degree so this isn't used as crutch way to counter everything spirit-like.
Example/Scenario:
An exorcist May be able to place these barriers in certain areas where a spirit stays in. This can make sure that either no other spirit interferes with their work, or so that the spirit doesn’t escape so easily.
Example, an exorcist just got a commission to exorcize a spirit that’s been hunting their client’s house. If the spirit is found in a room, the exorcist can then set up the barrier if it's passive enough, or lay it somewhere as a trap if it prefers to roam around. The latter is possible but also a lot more difficult to pull off.
- This one’s more of a strength test between the caster’s own affinity to isepian magic and the illusionist’s own ability, however the most it could do is temporarily distort the illusion before the illusionist could remake their illusions, and the least is the caster being able to pass through with a really minor shift. Like if they're hiding their whole body maybe a finger got temporarily revealed, or if it’s an accessory a part of it gets distorted. This is more of a side-effect because of it being attuned to the Earth element, so its illusion dispelling capabilities is not as full-proof as offensive spells.
- And alright that works. This spell is intended to not be a crutch so weaknesses to it are neat.
