I mean, it just sort of seems needlessly edgy - and this is coming from someone regularly accused of being edgy because shit happens and life isn't always sunshine and rainbows. (Also, does the naming rule apply to pets? Because Yog-Sothoth is... well... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yog-Sothoth yeeeeeah.)
Let me tell you that I know exactly what you mean. The sloth pet was actually just the example I had at the time, and as I stated in the semi-closing paragraph this has happened before. If your pet's icon is one thing, people will automatically address it as such.
Just to address the naming, I actually asked Sly after "OOC Slydria: I think that just begs the question why do you have a pet eldritch abomination named Yog-Sothoth..." because I like to make sure that I have no rule-breaking stuff.
(Hopefully Sly won't mind me using this.)
Sly only said it bugged him, not that it was against the rules. If it was, I'm sure he would've brought it to my attention! People name their pets after fictional characters all the time, at least in my experience they have, and nobody's to say that book series wouldn't have existed in SL2 in some form, perhaps under a different name and slightly different author, as many things in game are.. I had a dog named "Link" once, as an example. Pet name-changing is such little hassle as well, and you may have noticed that I haven't been on that character /w that pet in general, so the previous name of the pet is an invalid argument at this point, too.
I appreciate the chill reply, though, Rany. I expected a lot worse.
