Bite Wound and Stab Wound are two different things.

Argent Bite gives a Stab Wound.

Intentional? Probably not.

Bite wounds are more severe and are restricted to certain monsters with the Biter tags, which is usually only for when they have a bite basic attack. Could be changed but as it stands it's not a bug.
