I'm pretty sure never seen a single thread where it said tomes lose power when casting a spell they don't elementally match

Just because you've not seen a "single thread" where is said tomes lose power.. doesn't mean it isn't true.
I've seen it happen, though it only seems to not be a thing whenever dual-element spells are involved.
