If you install a youkai, and your base stat ends up increasing to a point where you qualify for a trait (I.E. 10 LUC for Lady Luck), you can buy it in the middle of combat.

1. You need to have a macro set to open the traits, which is ci-trait-new.
2. Have the appropriate youkai + install equipped.
3. Get into a fight, then install said youkai.
4. Open the trait window via the macro.
5. Buy traits (that the youkai are letting you qualify for.)
