Canto of Nature, aka the Bard Song Skill no one but me ever actually tried to use on an ally, does not work on Doriads.
Maybe this is intended, but it feels very wrong considering that Doriads are, in fact, plant people. Plant people that can become your ally. Plant People that have various passives related to being plants, considered a plant, or treating the tiles around them as if it had plants. Canto of Nature does not allow them to be chosen as a target for the song, and if the song is used on a plant they're standing on top of, they still do not get an Encourage buff, which means that they aren't considered at all for it.
This feels like a bug, it feels wrong, and it really makes Canto of Nature feel even more useless than it is. There is a reason that next to no one uses it with the restrictive instrument requirement on a class that doesn't scale well with most instruments in the first place. Coupled with the fact that Druid is mainly used for funny animal teehee shenanigans, and it makes sense why no one I spoke with even knew Canto of Nature doesn't work on Doriads.
So either it's a bug, or Doraids aren't plant allies and are considered lesser.
I have not tested using Canto of Nature on something like the living grass monster as a mercenary to see if it even -can- give Encourage in the first place, all I know is Doraids are lesser beings to a flower.
This is Aya.
