The Crit Damaj Conspiracy (GMs don't want you to know the truth) (Not clickbait)
#1
Two skills, Hell's Beating mainly, and Prophylaxis were considered borderline broken for a good while before they were hit with a nerf. Hell's Beating got an increased FP cost, and its Rank scaling has been adjusted to have a lesser effect on spirits, and Prophylaxis, that was mainly used in conjunction with Scarlet Twister from Ghost to essentially put them through a paper shredder, which was changed to only be able to hit a target once per action.

...Then it was found out that a good chunk of their power came from a bug that made the Critical damage far more problematic than they should've been in the first place.

...And then those skills STAYED nerfed even after that was found out. iirc, Hell's Beating's own nerf was even in the exact same update as the bug correction itself, for some reason.

Meaning,Hell's Beating is still adjusted for spirits to have little effects and still costs FP, and Prophylaxis is still limited to work with 1 enemy per action.

So, in OTHER WORDS, those skills were nerfed under the assumption that they were meant to be as powerful to begin with, and as such, adequately toned down...until it was found out that a good bit of their oppressive nature was due to a bug, with nerfs that were balanced around the former assumption in the first place, only to...not be further examined after the fact.

tldr;pls revert
Or give some bandaid of sorts to compensate the nerfs, I don't know. Prophylaxis probably shouldn't hit people three times per action still

Adjusting their crit damages to be halfway where they "were" may not be a bad option, and increasing their spirit scaling isn't the end of the world as high spirit scaling on large cooldown skills is pretty fair in actuality I feel like.

Eh, I'm pretty lukewarm on giving them buffs.

+30% (on Prophylaxis) and +45% (on Hell's Beating) Crit Damage are both still notable amps, reverting Hell's Beating to effectively be +120% Crit Damage when spirited again would just be silly.

Further using Scarlet Twister to let Prophylaxis (or any other pull interaction like such) to enable 3 boosted attacks in a burst was definitely unintended and I wouldn't expect that to be brought back for obvious reasons.

The only change I'd like to see is perhaps a cooldown reduction for Prophylaxis from 5 to 2/3 Rounds, since I'd put it roughly on the same power as something like Double Dance, which is a 2CD.

I don't think Hell's Beating deserves anything though, I wouldn't say it's great for all instruments but I consider that more on those instruments being lacking in that case.

Ghost DB was a mid tier build, and nerfing Hell's Beating because the number looked big, killed it.

Buffing hell's beating from what it originally was, would still not make it compete with actual meta ghost class combos nowadays.

As the game's iconic Ghost/DB (for awhile) I don't think I'd go back to that class combo even if all the nerfs to DB were reverted.

My main point is that the skills were nerfed partly under the assumption that this was their intended strength rather than a bug to begin with, so it feels a little unfair that those skills got no compensation after the fact.

I'm not asking for HB to be reverted to effectively 120% (which was pre bug fix, I believe?) but for the nerf that came around the same time as the bug fix to be instead.

A Proph CD reduction could be cool, though  agreed.

Cooldown reduction is what I'd be more in line with for Black Knight.

Dark Bard's Hell's Beating could get a buff on its Hesitation duration and level, if the damage went down sharply.

Yea ngl Hell's beating is pretty mediocre now.

I ALSO used Ghost/DB and was the progenitor build of the one that Zeri used for a long time.

Playing it as a crit damager has a lot of downside, especially cause you don't even *like* building luck anymore which makes Electric axe's swa kinda mid compared to other things.

Buffing Hell's beating, not back to 120, but at least some fixes would make it much better but still not that strong.
