Says DEF/MDEF, but should probably be DEF/RES for consistency's sake.

RES gives you status resist, while M.DEF does not.

This is applying stats to the armor, not direct stats to you (( Though they're 'direct' because you're wearing it )). Also this seems kind of ridiculous for papilions.
